Waxing 101: Arm Wax
To all the licensed estheticians, intermediate, and first-time waxers, this is your time to shine with Nova. Before you watch the video, here are some basics for our newbies...
- Wax consistency is key! Your wax performs best at a certain temperature so if Nova is too hot or lukewarm, you will not see the results that you want - set your wax warmer between 60-65c, depending on the room temperature, to get a syrup-like consistency.
- When applying Nova, pull enough wax out of the pot to allow yourself to place about a dime-thick layer on your skin. If the layer is too thin it will not allow you to get a good pull and dry quickly resulting in breakage. If the layer is too thick it will get tacky and stretch out into a snap which is something you don’t want.
- Make sure you allow enough time for the wax to adhere to all the hairs before you take action - 8 to 10 seconds is enough time to get a solid effective pull.
PREPARATION
It’s important to exfoliate your skin the day before you wax so all your hairs are out and there aren’t any hidden ingrown hairs.
